The CB35-B3340 Chromebook 2 is Toshiba’s second cheapest Chrome laptop, a solid speaker system with a scalp candy,4GB of memory, full HD display. in this increasingly competitive category.
The Toshiba category is crowded these days, and Toshiba is back on the field with the new and improved CB35-B3340 Chromebook 2. Despite having a 13-inch HD display, the Chrome OS laptop is thinner and thinner than its predecessor.

Design
The new Chromebook 2 is thinner and lighter than its predecessor, which is quite impressive, considering that it not only retains the same 13.6-inch display but also features it in Full HD in-plane switching (IPS) panel. Chiclet-style case. it has a series of Chrome function keys instead of the usual F1-F12 It has Chrome’s unique layout which replaces the Caps Lock key with a dedicated Google search button. The accompanying click pad is also quite good, with reasonable tracking and support for all types of Chrome gestures, such as tapping with two fingers (instead of right-clicking) and scrolling. Truth be told, the more I use Chromebooks, the more I crave some of these intuitive controls in Windows.
Features
You get a lot of ports. On the right are an HDMI outport, a single USB 3.0 port, a headset jack, and a Kensington lock slot. On the left is a USB 2.0 port and an SD card slot that includes support for many SD formats (SDHC, SDXC, etc.). Unlike most 11- and 12-inch Chromebooks, this system has a deep card slot, allowing you to insert and drop cards for more local storage.

The Chromebook 2 also offers dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi, the fastest quality available commercially, a welcome feature on a laptop that relies heavily on online services. There is also Bluetooth 4.0.
Google Chrome is pre-installed on Chromebook 2, and all you need to do is log in to your Google Account so you have all your Google Drive files, Chrome bookmarks, preferences, and history like your usual Chrome browser. Having access to Google encourages Cloud Storage by offering you a free 100GB extra Google Drive storage (good for 24 months) and a 60 day trial of Google Play Music All Access with the purchase of a laptop. Performance
Like other Chromebooks, the Chromebook 2 offers faster boot times, easier system sharing, and relatively faster browsing. It is powered by a 2.58GHz Intel Celeron N2840 processor and 4GB of RAM, which is usually a big step up from the 2GB included in the system at this price. The extra memory leads to smoother browsing and less hesitation when streaming media, a difference that is most noticeable when I compare it to the Samsung Chromebook 2 (XE500C12-K01US) ($ 288.50 on Amazon), which I have the same model processor, but only 2GB RAM Intel Celeron CPU does not disappoint, and the system manages to continue with minimal intervals, even when I have many tabs open, including audio.
The system lasted 7 hours and 4 minutes in our battery run-down test. This is within minutes of the previous model, the Toshiba CB35-A3120 (7:10). But while more than seven hours are respectable for any system, it lags behind the Acer Chromebook 13 (8:20) and the popular Asus C200 in the category (:1 288.50 on Amazon) (11:14).
Conclusion
The Toshiba CB35-B3340 Chromebook 2 is of better quality than its predecessor, with a higher resolution display, better sound quality, better components and performance, and smaller body size. But while this is definitely a step ahead for Toshiba, the category is more crowded and competitive than ever. The Acer Chromebook C720P-2600 is the top choice for cheap Chrome OS laptops, thanks to more local storage and a touch screen, and the HP Chromebook 11 (Verizon LTE) ($ 288.50 on Amazon) retains the crown of editor’s choice.
